Every crises originates from one source... lack of impacted development!

Development that is shared, true and concrete can always impede the push of conflict and war. More so, infrastructural development would only be sustained where there is core human development.

Therefore, every young person must start to cultivate special concerns for his/her development. One must first be changed before he can see himself as a change agent.

Also, different authorities -governmentl and public, must envelop and ensure impacting development strategies (through capacity building, entrepreneurial workshops and seminars, etc) which form the foundation to sustaining other development strides.

And i see that the achievement of the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – which range from halving extreme poverty, providing universal primary education to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS, all by the target date of 2015 – cannot be reached without the involvement of young people- You and I.

The world’s leaders and all the world’s leading development institutions have stimulated unique efforts to meet the needs of the world’s poorest regions and siince the adoption of the MDGs by all United Nations Member States in 2000, the Millennium Declaration and the Millennium Development Goals have become a worldwide framework for development and a means for developing countries and their development partners to work together in pursuit of a shared future for all.

However, though, there have been some gains, much is still left to be done.

Fellow young colleagues, I believe that we are a generation geared to impact the change and actualize vision 2015.

Together, we can achieve this goal -clear the mess we were born to see; make our environment habitable; change the state-of-the-mind of our people to think-first development and sustenance.

Start something strategic in your community today!

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT McLato !
"One must first be changed before he can see himself as a change agent." This phrase summarizes what young people should do first. Then, we have to start projects or become members of projects already prepared like what we're doing in TakingITGlobal. We are providing the youth with all the tools they need to get inspired, informed and involved.

I agree with you especially when you say that young people play a key role in achieving the MDGs as well as in the development of their countries.

Will you participate to the WYC 08 in Canada ?
